BEGINNING FINE ART FILM PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES
Developing black and white film and printing in a darkroom is a mysteriously addictive experience. Artists who love this medium will get you started and get you hooked on it. Principles of light and printing learned in the darkroom also translate into the digital world. An infinite range of image control exists with light, film, chemistry and papers. Prices for I-II include startup materials and 24 hours darkroom use outside of class times. Classes are limited to 6 people. Please call WWA 303.837.1341 to register for all classes listed here. Or email us at info@workingwithartists.org.
CAMERA & DARKROOM I 4 WEEKS
Discover the exposure and composing controls on your film camera and practice using them with shooting assignments each week. Starting the second week, you'll process your own film, make contact sheets and learn to print your own black and white images in the darkroom using enlargers and tray processing.
CAMERA & DARKROOM II 4 WEEKS
Take the next step into fine art photography, composing, processing and printing your images. Refine your techniques in the darkroom to learn fine points of black and white films and papers including fibre based papers as used by the world's finest black and white fine art photographers. Discover the use of toners for color, sepia or cyan, or for incredibly deep blacks and brilliant hilights using selenium.
