Looking to print your favorite images onto something other than the standard paper; making prints that will catch everyone's eye? Your goal in this workshop will be to produce high quality prints of your favorite photographs on several kinds of fabric; from fine silk-like materials to artistic canvas. You will be printing on a high quality fine art printer as well as on consumer quality printers similar to the one you may own. Start with a discussion of the many alternative materials available,then explore how to use various printers, including the use of Ink Aid to make non-coated papers inkjet ready. Delve into the fine points of image editing and color management unique to this process, then print several of your own for final critique on Sunday. Concepts covered in this class include; how to choose the right fabric for your imagery; image preparation in Adobe Photoshop; inkjet print settings and technology differences; overview of color management workflow for unconventional materials; how to finish and preserve artwork, and much much more! The workshop concludes with a discussion of finishing and display options.
